Bath Area Family YMCA

The City of Bath donated a centrally located site for this new YMCA facility, adjacent to schools and complete with dense woods, rock ledge, peat pockets, and requiring an extensive development budget. The responding site plan respects prominent areas of rock and mature pines, engaging the building within the site while reducing costs. The building design incorporates simple volumes, materials and construction methods that adapt a full-feature program to a minimal efficient footprint and expedite the construction schedule. A closely coordinated construction management process enabled the design team to develop this facility for less than $100 per foot.
