Chatham Community Center
Chatham, Massachusetts | 12,000 SF addition
Recalling the wood-walled gymnasiums of an earlier era, this modern addition creates a dynamic central space for a 1930s high school-turned community center. The building structure showcases engineered lumber spanning simple exposed steel frames, while plywood-clad wall panels bring this material warmth to the player’s level. Large window sections provide ample natural light while connecting indoor activities with Main Street and the adjacent play field.
