Greene Science Building
Northwest Florida State College| Niceville, Florida
This 45,000 square-foot classroom and laboratory facility provides the second anchor to a new central quadrangle transforming the academic core of this growing campus. A series of water features and covered walkways link the building to shared classroom and resource spaces, while a common design language reinforces the new campus standards.
The program incorporates faculty offices, conference facilities, a 100 seat lecture hall, flexible program classrooms, and dedicated prep, storage and teaching laboratories for biology, earth sciences and chemistry. Exterior walls are punched with large windows, exhaust and fresh air grilles and laboratory equipment ventilation – all organized behind a louver façade system that provides even, shielded daylight into classrooms and a consistent elevation design.
Developed as a joint venture with Sam Marshall Architects and DAG Architects.
