OA architects – newly named after fifteen years as Orcutt Associates – is a planning and design studio in Portland, Maine committed to developing thoughtful, functional and enticing architecture.

We work with education, municipal and institutional clients throughout the eastern United States reenergizing vintage buildings, creating bold civic spaces and embracing the challenging environment of northern New England. Our projects are realized in acres, square feet and meters with a construction range of $2m to $32m – some are completed in a matter of months, others will take a decade to unfold. Ultimately, our work is not about creating a design or monitoring a construction process; it is the development of buildings and sites that support and enhance the aspirations of the client and communities we serve.
